Lush Leafy Courtyard

A small garden in the shade of mature Oak and Puriri trees, designed in part as an outdoor waiting room for a home based therapeutic massage business. Subtropical Cane palms, cycads and bromeliads mix with native plants such as Kawakawa, Mamaku and Keikei. Granite accents in the segmented concrete plant pillars, inspired by the work of Italian architect Carlo Scarpa, bring something of the streetscape palette into the garden space. Poured concrete plinths provide the opportunity for display of sculpture or other object d’art.
